Lipstick, blush, nail polish, rust, dyes, inks, candle wax, and other similar types of spots require professional removal. Do not attempt to remove these on your own.

Oily foodstuffs like coffee, mustard, tea, soft drinks, beer, wine. Also vomit, urine, excrement.

Mix one tablespoon of mild carpet detergent, 1/3 cup of white vinegar, and 2/3 cup of water. Remove excess materials by absorbing liquids and scraping off semi-solids. Apply the solution in small amounts, and agitate lightly with the dull side of a butter knife. Let stand for 5 minutes. Blot with a very absorbent towel. Apply fresh water and blot again. Repeat procedure until stain is gone. If stain persists, place absorbent dry towels on top, and apply some weight (like books). Leave for several hours and observe results. Starches, sugars, egg, milk, blood, candy, ice cream, chocolate, salad dressing.

Mix a cup of water, two tablespoons of clear ammonia, and one tablespoon of mild carpet detergent. Perform the same removal procedures as above.

Heavy grease, butter, oil, gum, tar, inks, wax, household adhesives.

Apply a nonflammable dry-cleaning solvent. These can be obtained at a grocery store or at a hardware store. You must apply these in very small amounts to avoid damage to the carpet's backing materials. If in doubt, call us.
